The Board of APA is responsible for the proper management of APA’s business and affairs.
Andrew Garnett is a industry professional, who transferred to academia in the last decade of his career. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Queensland (UQ), Executive Chair of the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT), and an Executive Committee Member of the International Gas Union. He is co-Chair of LNG2029 Conference and more recently Australian Country Delegate for the International Institute of Refrigeration. Prof. Garnett has been deeply engaged in the Australian energy and gas-LNG sector since 2008, following over 30 years of international upstream oil and gas experience. At UQ, he served as Director of the Centre for Natural Gas (now Gas and Energy Transition Research Centre) and the UQ CCUS Program.
As Chair of AGIT - the IGU’s Australian Charter Member - he works with peak body CEOs from across the Australian gas sector. While at UQ, and since, Prof. Garnett delivered policy advice and led large-scale, industry-focused research programs supporting Australia’s energy transition. He has served on multiple government advisory boards and has contributed to the IEA’s World Energy Outlook and Energy Technology Perspectives. Furthermore, he designed courses, taught energy economics and energy scenario methods at the Masters level, and has supervised a wide range of PhDs including in Hydrogen, CCUS and Energy Systems Modelling. Current research interests: energy policy and scenarios, gas market and pricing, biomethane, methane emissions.
Steve Davies is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA), a position he has held since 2017. With over 20 years of experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and leadership, Steve plays a pivotal role in advocating for Australia's energy infrastructure sector. His leadership focuses on delivering practical, evidence-based solutions to complex policy challenges, particularly in the context of Australia’s energy transition.
Steve's career at APGA spans more than 16 years, during which he has also served as National Policy Manager and Policy Advisor. Prior to joining APGA, he was Assistant Director of Resources and Energy at the Australian Government, where he helped shape national policy in the energy sector. He has also held leadership roles with the Australasian Railway Association, contributing to key projects in infrastructure development.
Steve is deeply committed to sourcing insights directly from industry professionals to drive informed, effective policy outcomes for Australia's evolving energy landscape.
Samantha McCulloch is the Chief Executive of Australian Energy Producers, the peak body for Australia’s oil and gas sector.
Australian Energy Producers’ members contribute more than $100 billion to our economy each year while meeting a quarter of Australia’s energy needs.
Since 2022, Samantha has proudly led the industry’s advocacy for competitive and sustainable policy settings to secure the critical role of Australian oil and gas in achieving our energy and climate goals.
Before joining Australian Energy Producers, Samantha spent seven years at the Paris-based International Energy Agency as head of the carbon capture, utilisation and storage team.
She has more than 20 years of policy, industry and technical expertise from roles across government, industry associations and the private sector in Australia and internationally.
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong, as well as a Master of Public Policy from the Australian National University.
Jordan McCollum is the Chief Executive Officer of Gas Energy Australia, the peak body representing the LPG and autogas sector across Australia. In this role, Jordan advocates for policies and regulatory frameworks that support the ongoing role of LPG and gas in Australia's energy mix.
Gas Energy Australia's members span the full supply chain — from importers and refiners through to distributors and retailers — providing energy to homes, businesses, and transport users across the country, particularly in areas not connected to the natural gas grid.
Jordan is committed to working with government, industry partners, and community stakeholders to ensure that gas energy continues to play a practical, affordable, and low-emission role in Australia's evolving energy transition.
Dennis Van Puyvelde is Energy Networks Australia’s Director of Gas Networks. In this role he manages work programs and strategic projects for the Gas Committee and its related technical, marketing and policy reference groups.
Dennis led the development of Gas Vision 2050 – an industry wide vision for the gas industry. This vision describes a pathway for the gas sector to reach net-zero emission involving the adoption of hydrogen, biomethane and carbon capture and storage. He was actively involved in the development and delivery of industry relevant research through the Future Fuels CRC and continues this involvement through Gas Infrastructure Research Australia.
Throughout his career, Dennis has been involved in many international collaborations and he currently chairs the International Gas Union’s Sustainability Committee.
Dennis has over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, with particular emphasis on low emission technologies, focusing on low emissions and renewable fuels.
Dennis has a PhD and Honours degree in Chemical Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Leadership.

With over 25 years’ experience across the energy sector, Bronwyn specialises in originating new industries, shaping policy and regulatory frameworks, and structuring complex commercial arrangements to scale innovative projects. She brings deep expertise across renewable gas, circular economy systems, and resource recovery, with a strong focus on integrating policy, infrastructure, and market design.
Bronwyn has extensive Asia-Pacific experience, working across diverse regulatory and commercial environments to unlock energy transition opportunities and build cross-border partnerships. She is a trusted advisor to private companies and the Australian Government on energy policy, sustainable investment, and green economy development.
She is a Board Member of AGIT and Renewable Gas Program Manager at A2EP, where she leads national industry collaboration to accelerate biomethane and renewable gas markets, including regulatory reform, data frameworks, and industry coordination.
An awarded and sought-after speaker, Bronwyn is recognised for translating complex energy transition challenges into clear, actionable strategies. She brings particular strength in complex negotiations, infrastructure strategy, and market creation, with a focus on enabling commercially viable and environmentally sustainable energy systems.
