Australian Involvement with IGU

Australia has close involvement with IGU including one research lead position. The table below shows the activities that have just concluded – this will be updated soon.
You can nominate to be a member of a committee at any point during the IGU research period. Membership can mean attending meetings (held every six months throughout the three-year research triennia) or by correspondence only, where you will be expected to assist in opinions, surveys and project/industry input.
All nominations must be approved by AGIT. Please contact the people listed below or contact AGIT on info@agit.org.au to learn more about how to become involved.

The 2018-2021 triennium commenced at the end of the WGC2018 in June 2018, where a call was issued for interested parties in the Triennial Work Program 2018-21. Please see the Korean Presidency page for further details.
During the 2018-2021 triennium the following Australian representatives lead IGU Task Forces:

Being on an IGU committee has many benefits, as stated by one of our representatives:

Marketing around the World

Barbara Jinks chaired the Marketing & Communications Committee June 2018-2021. The committee looked at new ways of marketing gas. As Barbara states: “Promoting gas is contact sport; the gas industry is having to use new ways of holding conversations with its key stakeholders – policy makers and the public. Members on our committee have learned a lot from meetings in the Netherlands, Germany, China, Slovenia and Canada, both through talking with industry leaders and meeting the national gas associations.

”Barbara thanks AGIT for funding her IGU activities and strongly encourages everyone to become involved in an industry committee relevant to their interest “not only to learn from others but to develop your own career, meet new colleagues around the world and give back to the Australian gas community”.
